FORMER
A new era dawns on the Constructs.
Through the use of a mysterious console, you've gained access to an alternate universe as a Former. With your abilities, you're able to assist Constructs in their navigation & attempt to reform the universe.
FORMER features:
- 20 Levels
- 16 Collectables
- 3 Alternate Endings
- And even more...
FORMER was created over the course of two weeks for the Game-Wisdom Game Jam, which ended on August 8th, 2023. In this platformer, you build the level as something else navigates it, effectively turning the tables on the genre. Through development, FORMER took on its Puzzle-Platformer sheen it has today.
FORMER was designed solely by VioletRawrDerg.

Very good presentation and nice minimalistic graphics! The first few levels are very interesting. The gradual addition of new mechanics and pieces is on point, and the doors with lore were a great way to bump the challenge for completionists.
But the later levels became annoying as it was no longer about puzzle solving but about timing, time of placement (spinning platforms), and mouse agility. I like puzzle and strategy games, but for me (and I believe for most) it's a put-off when puzzles get mixed with agility/skill, meaning when I'm no longer sure if I have to think or train my muscle memory.
On level 2 it says "Cancel Placement with the Middle Mouse Button". assumed that would let me remove a block I placed, but nothing happens. I thought this means I must restart the level if I make a mistake, so I pressed the pause button in the upper-left, chose "sever connection" and got a blank white screen. Had to reload the webpage.
That closes the game on the desktop version. The reset button is in the top right. Sadly Web Players have a lot of nuances I'm not too experienced with, so I should've made the button be something besides the middle mouse!
